Weight loss help PLEASE! Need tips and advice from people who have been there...?

I recently lost like 30 lbs over a 3 month period. Wonderful right? I am 5'4';. I started at about 210 lbs. I now weigh around 180. The problem is that I had no diet plan. Maybe it was the stress that I was under at the time but the pounds were melting off and people were starting to ask me if I was on drugs and everything else! ( I wasn't, and am not.)

The thing is, I am at a standstill now and have just become motivated to lose more weight. I would like to get down to a healthier weight. My goal is 140. Does anyone have any ideas or tips that would help me to lose that 40 lbs? Obviously I would like to lose it as fast as possible but am not going to be unrealistic about it.

I would really like to hear tips from people who started out bigger, like me, and have had success. Also, any advice from professionals would be much appreciated!!

Thanks everyone :)Weight loss help PLEASE! Need tips and advice from people who have been there...?

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.

If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which

will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow

underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without

exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For

diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food

after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on

your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If

you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey

cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your

diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to

calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,

start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the

most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a

lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,

disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target

your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a

bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you

to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Hi

Good afternoon, quick weight loss may not always be the solution you need as sometimes these programs does not necessarily offer sustainable weight loss.

As part of a healthy diet, it is important that you include counting calories as part of your diet routine. Losing weight by counting calories is about ensuring the amount of calories you consume each day is less than the amount of calories you burn up.

Nutritionists, dietitians and other health professionals agree that healthy eating which includes counting calories and a low fat diet are essential for long term healthy weight loss. Losing weight by counting calories helps to build your knowledge and awareness of how many calories your body needs to function and what is in the foods you consume. Counting calories does not take a lot of time or effort, and may be done in quick and easy steps that will fit into most lifestyles and can accommodate personal preferences. Dieting by counting calories means there are no forbidden foods 鈥?everything is allowed 鈥?as long as you eat less calories than you burn up each day you will see the weight come off.

To lose weight by counting calories you need to first work out how many calories you need each day to maintain your weight. For women, this average around 2000, for men around 2500, this will vary depending on your build 鈥?such as muscle content and height. To lose weight your calorie count needs to be less than the calories you burn. If you eat 500 calories less than you need each day you will lose weight at the rate of one pound (453.6g) per week. If you eat 1,000 calories less than you need each day you will lose two pounds (907.2g) each week. By eating fewer calories, your body will have to turn to its fat stores to make up the deficit in your calorie count. It is recommended that you combine exercise, to burn more calories, with healthy eating to create a calorie deficit.
