I just bought an iPhone 3g. Any advice and tips. Please?

What is wifi and how does it work. Also why doesn't my phone flips to the way I want it. Also what kind of applications and stuff I should add to my phone, like any updates and stuff. I'm still new at everything, I don't know what to do, like do I connect it all to my computer . Also, do I need to get flash on my phone .Thank you.I just bought an iPhone 3g. Any advice and tips. 1. Go to iTunes on your computer. Set up an account (you will need it to download apps). Connect your phone to iTunes. Update your software. Find the iPhone user manual. Download it to your desktop and print it out.





2. Read the user manual. It helps to know what you're doing.





3. You can access the internet using the 3g network or wifi. To use wifi you need to be in a free hot spot or have the pass code to a secure network. You switch between them in Settings.





4. Apps. You need that iTunes account. Don't let anyone tell you what to get. One of the great joys of having an iPhone is the ability to browse through the apps store. Most apps have free lite versions. Don't spend money if you don't have to. Read the reviews. A lot of apps suck. Everybody has Pandora and Shazam (neither suck and both are free).





5. Flash isn't supported.





6. Get use to the phone before you even think of jailbreaking it. Read a lot of sites before you try it.





7. Get insurance. Squaretrade is popular. Physical damage isn't covered under Apple's warranty and if you get the phone wet (or even damp), Apple won't talk to you.





8. Get a decent case and a screen protector. The best selection is online.





9. Don't trust everything you read here. There are a lot of morons posting. If you have a question, google iphone+question. There are some great sites out there.

First of all flash cannot be installed sucks i know


You should get pandora radio and if you can jail break it( allows bonus content)


Lower ur brightness to conserve energy


Double tap home button to get a mini music menu connect to itunes watch helpfull vids on apple.com and read manual wifi means wireless fidelity


It is wireless internet if you have that at home it should connect unless u have a password


Most cofee places offer it free


Its faster than 3g
It's probably not rotating to landscape view because you need to upgrade it to the 3.0 firmware.





You can do that by plugging it into the comp. load up itunes. click your device on the left side. and in the right window there is a button that says update software. :)
