i just want really loose, casual curls that i can wear to school. and hopefully that could be low-maintenance. i could probably devote 20-30 minutes on these curls. and i have SUPER straight hair, will they even work? and what's the best hairspray that won't make them crunchy? and best clips to buy? and brand? and curler size?

and I don't want to be buying $200 dollar curlers! comething that is around 50 dollars? no more than 80 i guess.

Weather or not it would work really just depends on your hair type. From what you said about your hair with the Shirley Temple thing i think they would work. Like mine is really straight but it cant hold curls or anything, i can use curlers and then when i take them out, after like 5 minutes my curls are gone. For hair curlers i would say you should buy Conair hot sticks. And curler sizes just depends on what you buy. They arent to hard to put in and heat up fast. For hair spray just use Suave number 7 in strength.

I use Remington hot rollers with the wax cores. They work great for me, but my hair is naturally wavy/curly anyhow. The hot rollers just make the curl stay. Otherwise my hair weighs it down.
