Only gamble what you can afford to loose, have a few drinks before going to a club because the drinks are crazy expensive inside, if you play slots always max bet because if you win otherwise you won't win much, and use a players card to get free stuff if you gamble enough. oh yeah, have fun and take lots of pictures to remember what you may not! :):)Heading to Vegas for my 21st this weekend... any tips or advice?
Change your plans and go to a nice beach somewhere, you will enjoy it more and not blow your money..Heading to Vegas for my 21st this weekend... any tips or advice?
Happy birthday.
First of all, don't make a plan of what you are going to do. Unless it includes seeing a show that is very popular where tickets in advance are a must, or going to a particular club, then just go there and wing it.
Secondly, have a comfortable pair of shoes. You will do A LOT of walking. You will probably spend more time walking than anything else. The Strip may not seem that big, until you try walking next door. You will spend a lot of time checking out the casinos.
With you being 21, you probably do not have much money to spend. You will see that things on the Strip can be expensive. Drinks are very expensive if you are not gambling (if you are gambling, they are free, and a whole lot more expensive!) Things Downtown are a lot more inexpensive. $5 will easily give you a good meal. Then again, Downtown is a lot more low key than the strip. If you are not staying Downtown, check out Downtown at night. It is disappointing during the day, but a lot of fun by night.
Collect the stripper cards that are handed out on the strip. I still get a kick out of watching those guys pass them out (you will know what I am talking about).
Join the players club at every casino you play in. You may not gamble enough for free stuff, but you will get great deals sent to your home or e-mail if you ever want to go back.
Let people know that you just turned 21. You may score some free things. I took a friend of mine there for his 21st and we got free tickets to see Rick Thomas, and many free drinks.
Live within your means. It is so easy to over spend there. Go there with a fixed amount of money, and leave the ATM card at home.
You are expected to tip. Take care of those who take care of you.
Ask about a room upgrade when you check in. A nice tip ($20-$50) can often get you from a standard room to a suite.
Look for coupon books while there. If you are trying to save money, those books can help you out. Not only will couplns save you money, but they often steer you in teh direction of the better deals in town.
If you go to strip clubs, be prepared to shell out a lot of money. Even places that offer no cover charge will have a drink minimum (with drinks running at least $10).
Don't talk to anybody offering you free show tickets. They are trying to sell you a timeshare.
If you want to go to a show, check out some of the street vendors on the strip. They can often get you a better price.
If you are not sure how to play a game, just ask. Somebody will help you. But don't play poker unless you know what you are doing.
Have fun. I would suggest casinos, shows, or clubs, but I have no idea what you like. There is something for everybody there (even if you don't gamble).
And if you are trying to drink or gamble one minute before turning 21, you will be denied. I took a friend of mine out there for his 21st. On the flight there, the clock struck midnight to begin his birthday. The flight attendants gave us a free drink and made an announcement over the speaker. When we got to our hotel, we went straight to the casino. When he tried to cash a traveler's check, he was denied. Vegas is three hours behind where we live. So even though he was 21 at home, in Vegas it was 11:50pm, and thus too young to gamble. They told him to come back in 10 minutes.
Ya, don't waste your time. Go somewhere real.
Drink ALOT!!!!!!!
People are rude!! Go to Vegas.com they have all kinds of things on there!! I live here. I like to people watch!!! You can walk hotel to hotel with a drink in your hand. Clubs are a lot of money. But if you go get VIP way better!! It is going to be real warm. But in the casinos, it is cold!! Party %26amp; have fun!!!
Bring comfy shoes %26amp; drink plently of water...you're gonna need it!
I went to vegas last Aug and it is as hot as hell!
Also, take it easy when you're getting crunked beause they make the drinks very strong there!
Have alot of small bills onhand for tips/gratuities.
And most importantly....look as FABULOUS as possible all the time!
Why is everyone so anti-Vegas? Vegas is awesome. I have been there more times than I can count, and I always have a great time. Do be prepared to spend money...goes with the territory, Vegas is an expensive town. If you want to gamble, have a set amount you are prepared to lose, and when you do, stop. It's fun to play slots, and if you aren't all about the big win, then stick to nickel or penny slots...still fun, when you hit it big you don't win a lot but it still feels good! Also if you don't already now how to play well, go buy one of those blackjack cheat cards in the hotel gift shop, and follow what it tells you.....you can play it pretty safe with blackjack.
Turning 21, you gotta be all about the clubs. If you can afford it, get a table. If not, at least get VIP passes so you don't wait in line. They do cost more, but I think they are worth it. Definitely drink or ';pre-game'; before hand the drinks are pricey. Buy a bottle and starting in your room while you are getting ready to go out is the cheapest. Or just get drinks at the casino bar. To find out whats cutting edge try www.luxevegas.com they have new articles on whats new and fun in vegas.
Honestly I wouldn't go by anyone's passed experiences! just go there's so many things to do in Vegas (the place I call home) you'll have a blast! just prepare yourself for unlimited amounts of fun, Vegas is really an Adult Playground...;-)
Go to the Hard Rock pool on SUNDAY morning, get there early for the party...
keep your money in your pocket and you will always come home a winner! Just kidding hope you have a great time Happy Birthday! Only real tip Stay out of the Heat!
Get totally wasted.
