So far I've mapped out the whole plot, a few of the chapters have been planned as well and I've drawn the main characters to get accustom to drawing them.
I know the equipment I need (different graded pencils, pens and rubbers and all that) but I'm sure where to start drawing wise, I have plans of how the panels are meant to look but I plan on scanning it to the computer and I have manga studio 3 to create panels.
When drawing it do I use A4 paper then scan it and clean it up or do I just draw single images and crop and minimise then on the computer?
Any advice would be helpful and I'd be extremly grateful.Any tips or advice for drawing a manga comic?
Here is what the steps generally are.
Start out doing small thumbnails, thumbnails are small sketchy crappy pictures of your pannels done on paper, they will give you ideas on poses and camera angels and such so you won't waste your time doing a good perfect pannel and then finding out it sucks and start all over. Once you've thumbnailed out the whole or most of the story start doing the real panels. Draw the pictures all in big panel squares, once you scanned the drawings in you can cut and slice them from squared panels to any shape, in a manga panel even if doesn't show the hand or part of a character's body, chances are the original drawing did show everything, but was cut for space purposes, draw them all big then just scale them down in the computer.
If you're gonna scan them in use plain white printing paper it's easier to clean up, but if you can get a Wacom tablet and learn to use it as I have you'll be able to skip the whole the pencil %26amp; paper thing and draw straight into the computer program of your choice and color them.Any tips or advice for drawing a manga comic?
this will take too long to answer so I'll just give you a list to get the best start up.
